The membership dues of the Panhandle of Texas Chapter are the lowest in the nation, the Chapter continues to improve and add services to make it the best bargain around. The Chapter is here to provide services to all of its members. The Plan Room and the Chapter's facilities are second to none. Provided are the latest plans from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico for take-off in excellent surroundings and check-out privileges are offered. If the Plan Room has only one set of plans on a project, the overnight check-out time is from 4:00 pm to 9:00 am the following morning. Daytime check-out is available if we have two or more sets of plans for a project. The daytime check-out period is from 9:00 am to 9:00 am the following morning. Weekend check-out is from 4:00 pm on Friday to 9:00 am on Monday. Blueprint copies are available at a cost of $3.50 per sheet, tax included. Members may come in to review the plans and have copies made utilizing our no waiting, no breakdown service. We also offer call-in service and monthly billing on blueprint copies which saves time and money. Copy services are available for any plans. Construction News offers seven pages of weekly information on construction events that members need to be aware of. The news is from Washington, D.C., Austin, locally, and elsewhere. A safety talk page each week makes it possible for members to meet the weekly requirements of OSHA, the safety pages are also published in Spanish to help the member’s workforce. Projects out for bids and bid results are part of the weekly news provided. The FOUR HOUR BID TIME LIMIT PLAN has been around since 1961, making it the longest continuing plan in the nation. It is a community service program that helps make the Texas Panhandle the best place to bid and work. Available is a Safety Video Library. Over 40 tapes can be checked out so that members can schedule their safety programs at their convenience. The Library also has twelve videos in Spanish. Members attend dinner meetings with the food, drinks, and important programs provided. Each member firm is entitled to one person (two for Ladies Night) attending at no cost. In addition, members are offered an option of two medical programs. One is through Pacific Life and the provider is Baptist St. Anthonys. The agent is Jerry Lotman at 433-2414. The other plan is through United Healthcare and Northwest Texas Hospital is the provider. The agent is Candice Naylor at 373-8551. Workers’ Compensation is available through CompGroup AGC which pays dividends and provides safety inspections. Their number is 1-800-406-9614. Also available are Qualified Profit Sharing Plans; 401(k) Plans; Executive Retirement Plans; and Disability Insurance Protection Plans through American Buying Retirement Services in Chicago, one of the largest in the nation. Information can be obtained on these programs by calling the Chapter office.
